After 49 days of intense meditation, at the age of 35, Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment, becoming the Buddha, the Awakened One.
The Teachings of the Buddha

The First Noble Truth acknowledges that suffering (dukkha) is an inherent part of human existence.
